Since the latest release of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard we decided to give up support for older systems. Leopard helps us to program faster, more stable code in less time. In addition we think that a lot of SolarSeek users will have switched to 10.5 when the first stable release is ready.
Currently we are in an alpha phase where we try to get the most basic functionalities working. There are still some important codelines to be written but we are confident to deliver one of the best SoulSeek client code ever written for the Mac.
Everybody these days shows some screenshots or detailed information about their upcoming software. Today we are doing the same thing with SolarSeek 1.0.
We reached a step where the core is searching, downloading and uploading files. You may say “Hey, well done. But how will the app look like?!”. For this question we have two screenshot for you.
Here you can find your personal settings once you’ve connected to the network.
Downloads and Uploads are present as an outline view. To keep your transfers organized SolarSeek tracks a files associated search term. With the filter bar you can sort out the files you don’t want to see.
Is this worth waiting? If you think so, the waiting time is even shorter if you help us programming! Every interested person is invited to support us. Visit our development section for further information.
In contrast to the meaning of some people we are still developing for SolarSeek. Let me clarify the “we” for those who are new to the project: We only have one active cocoa programmer that programs the new SolarSeek core. Besides that we have one project manager and an interface designer. What we really need is a gui programmer that can glue the code to the interface. But we are also looking for any other programming knowledge.
Do you think you can help us? Then contact us right now. Or go to the development section for more information.
Below you can find the latest files for the project. The Interface has still no functionality because the Network Core is still in early development. If the core has arrived it’s stable phase we will connect it to the new interface.

For everybody who doesn’t have any programming knowledge you can help us with giving us feedback, requests, ideas or whatever on the forum.
In addition we are also happy for any donation. It helps us paying the hosting.
After some work the new forum is online. please test it and tell us what you think: Forum is online for testing
We are updating some Website parts this week. Maybe a few functions wont work during this time so please have some patience. Thanks.
